The Pomira (or the "Horde") are a tribe of cave-dwelling "savages". They first encountered Xena two years before she met Gabrielle.

Xena and her army[]
While fighting with the Horde, Xena lost a large part of her army. It happened two years before Xena met Gabrielle. one of the men who survived the battle was Rahl.
Kaltaka[]
When members of the Athenian Infantry under the command of Galipan were fighting the Horde, Xena took command of the men after Galipan's death. A Pomira named G'Kug was taken captive. Gabrielle was able to learn from G'Kug that the Pomira word for "water" is "kaltaka".
Peace[]
Peace was achieved with the Pomira through Pilee. Pilee, born Vanessa, to Rahl and Adiah, was abdcuted by the Hordemaster Cervic after his own daughter died. Cervic adopted Vanessa and raised her as his own. Six years later, Pilee was reunited with her birth family by Xena and Gabrielle. Pilee was finally able to act as a bridge between the two peoples.

Pomira language[]
The language of the Pomira has only a few known words that were translated into English. Many of the other words and phrases have possible translations from context.
Alo- ? (Said when escaping from Milo. "Sailo, alo, Pilee!")
Baka- (Possibly) "glory" or "honor". (Said by Pilee when honoring lamb. "Glory, tanabi. Glory, baka.")
Bes- "Both"
Bonai- (Possibly) "good" or "family"
Da'vo- (Possibly) "father" or "no". (Said by Pilee when talking to Cervic before saying goodbye to Rahl. "Da'vo. No. Da'vo.")
Dovi- (Possibly) "get" or "gather". (Said by Pomira man when telling disguised Xena to get water.)
El'freeon- ? (Said by Cervic when chasing after Xena and Pilee.)
Fal'su- ? (Said by Cervic when trying to find Pilee.)
Kaltaka- "Water"
Kasu- (Possibly) "I'm coming" or "daughter". (Said by Cervic when trying to get Pilee back from Xena.)
Na'veenes- ? (Said by Pilee when talking to Cervic before saying goodbye to Rahl. "So'aliki. Na'veenes.")
Lakota toti. Bonai. Soli bonai.- "No fight. no war. Family." Or "People all. Good. Only good." (Said by Cervic and translated by Pilee.)
