Cassandra in "Atlantis"
|Portrayed By||Claudia Black|
|First Appearance||HTLJ "Atlantis"|
|Last Appearance||HTLJ "Hercules on Trial"|
Cassandra was an Atlantean who did not believe in the ideals of technology and progress espoused by King Pantheus. She lived outside the capital city of Atlantis and was considered an outsider by most of its citizens. She worked the garden that had been her father's.
Cassandra had visions or dreams of Atlantis being destroyed and of her being saved by a man she had never known. When Hercules washed up on shore, his ship having been wrecked by Pantheus' Crystal Wave Weapon, she recognized him as the man from her dreams. Later, Hercules did in fact save Cassandra when Atlantis was being destroyed (HTLJ "Atlantis").
- In mythology, Cassandra was a princess of Troy who spurned the advances of Apollo. Because he loved her, he gave her the gift of prophecy, but because she rejected him, he cursed her prophecies so that no one would believe them. Her appearances do not suggest a connection with Apollo or offer an explanation for the source of her vision. She was also the sister of Hector and Paris and the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba.
