I've created a new Facebook group for the Wiki! Please visit at Legendary Journeys: Hercules & Xena and "Like" and follow the page. The original group has been defunct for some time but I'll try to be active on this one. I expect traffic on our Wiki will start to go up.
With the recent success of the Wonder Woman film, I'm sure that NBC/Universal will kick into high gear on the Untitled Xena Reboot. Now that audiences have proven that a female action hero can be financially profitable they will not waste time jumping on the bandwagon with a proven property they already own. I was quite excited to see Javier Grillo-Marxuach's take on Xena but, as confirmed by The Mary Sue in April, Grillo-Marxuach has stepped back. It remains to be s…Read more >
We have finally heard some news directly from Javier Grillo-Marxuach about the Untitled Xena Reboot. He posted a brief Q&A on his Tumblr in which he confirms that the new series will be a reboot rather than a revival. It will not be some kind of modern retelling (as some fans have dreaded), instead it will be "... a truly female-driven, sword-and-sandal, period epic set in Bronze-age Greece - and to build on the success of the classic, original series to launch an event series we hope can return year after year… not unlike Doctor Who." To me, this sounds like great news!
Even though it's unlikely that Lucy Lawless and Renée O'Connor will be back in their original roles, Grillo-Marxuach says he is open to the possibility of the original cas…Read more >

Xena: Warrior Princess could be back on TV screens as soon as next year.
NBC and NBC Universal International are reportedly working on a ‘modern reboot’ of the action-adventure drama.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the drama is in the ‘extremely early development stages,’ but original executive producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi have already signed onto the project and the search for a writer is underway.
It is unclear how and if Lucy Lawless is involved with the reboot, but sources told the Hollywood Reporter that insiders wanted the original Xena to have both a role onscreen and behind the scenes.
‘Sources say the new Xena would hav…

I do apologize for my absence from this Wiki, but I haven't had a laptop for a year or so now, therefore restricting me to only be able to view the site and not edit! But now that I am back on the web, I will surely get to work again, my main focus especially on the Xena article.
I look forward to continuing editing again!

Gods are unique in their ways; including magic, immortality, conjuration, materializing/teleportation, healing spells and more. If they really existed in our world, I would be fascinated and choked.
When I see Athena die at the end of "Motherhood", I just think it´s wrong.

Today I started with a new story that im writing. It´s about the continuation of the Xena: Warrior Princess series but has it´s own title. I call it "Mel: The Battling Bard". Its about Mel who are the son of Ares and Adonia, Adonia was the only daugther of Gabrielle and Virgil. So the story is very lore friendly and the main character is a demi-god. I´m on the first episode/adventure of him. My question is, should I upload the adventures of Mel on the wikia or not? Otherwise I just would like you to know that I was beginning this project today and I will not stop.
Mel: The Battling Bard takes place 40 years after Gabrielle and Virgil had a child which was year 33. By that the story takes place year 73.
The adventures will not really have that…Read more >

So I wanted to know which is your favorite character in Xena Warrior Princess and/or Hercules Legendary Journeys?
My favorite character is Joxer. He is so funny and always make me happy and laugh, he has a good sense of humor and is very interesting. Here is my favorite quotes of him:
"Joxer the Lionheart is ready for action!" - For Him the Bell Tools
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" - Been there, Done that'Read more >

I was just watching "Fallen Angel" with the audio commentary by R.J. Stewart and Eric Gruendemann and they mention an episode of Xena that deals with Alexander the Great. Apparently, it was shot after "Fallen Angel" and Charles Mesure plays Alexander.
They say the studio wouldn't allow it to air because it had too much sex and violence!
Has anyone seen this? I hope they'll release it on DVD!Read more >
I was wondering what you thought about the idea of approaching the admins of the Legend of the Seeker Wiki and the Spartacus Wiki about joining together as "sister" wikis?
I'm thinking because all three franchises were essentially created by the same people it might make sense to link the three wikis somehow. Perhaps even just with links/ads on our main pages. Also, though the other wikis do not yet have nearly as much information or work completed on them, they both have main pages I really like. I kind of feel like we need a facelift!
Anyway, just a thought. Discuss.

Ok, been gone for a very long time now... college and work has kind of got on top of me! But I'm slowly making a comeback :) sort of... I'm STILL working on the story section for Xena on my laptop, slowly watching each pivotal episode and writing out Xena's story. It's taken me almost TWO years (well, a little less, considering I haven't worked on it for like four months lol), but I'm slowly getting there! However, when I'm not working on that, I will be here on the Wikia, adding new pages, new images and having a good clear up :)
And remember, ask me if I'm needed or you're stuck - I'm also here to help and guide you guys - whether it's a query on working templates or something about the history of XWP that you want to check, just ask! Jus…Read more >

At long last, I have finished going through HTLJ season three. I've properly formatted each episode page with the new infobox and gallery. I've added images to each gallery and created character pages for all of the characters.
There are several characters who are named but uncredited. If you can help identify these actors, please do! Elektra, Remo, the voice of Braxus, Boy, Hunter, and Martus.
Many of the episode summaries could stand to be wikified.
Also, if you're new to the site and looking for a project, there are tons of missing performer pages. Just click on the red links to create a new article!

Watching Xena after so many years it's been off the air is a bit wierd.
Why do I do it? The answer is the same one for all shows I watch; I like a good story and Xena has provided that. as one watches episode after episode, it becomes one huge story instead of just a bunch of episodes, which is what makes a show great in my opinion.
And why is this the first wiki I'm being involved in? This can only be a conbination of factors:
- there are things I can offer
- there is a universe to document (the Xena-Herc-verse) which is always attractive (at least to me)
- I feel it is time well spent
So here I am, involving myself and hoping to do a good job.Read more >
Thought it was about time I made a blog post, and what better day to do it on than the 15th March, better known as the Ides of March! Thought it would be fitting for my first blog post to commemorate one of the greatest pieces of writing, directing, acting and editing ever - The series four finale, "The Ides of March." In history, the Ides of March was the name given to the day of Julius Caesar's death and the famous saying "Beware the Ides of March," (said to Brutus by Xena in the show) a warning given to him by an oracle/seer.

- I am the comic-relief. I am always trying to make people laugh.
- I may not be the best, but I give it all I got.

- I am accident-prone.
- It doesn't matter if I ever do anything amazing, just as long as I get to witness somebody else do it.
- I try to be a good friend

We've got both good and bad news this week.
The bad news is that Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) has had to bow out of season two to battle his cancer. It had been in remission and Whitfield was in training for season two when his doctors told him he needed to immediately take time to deal with treatment. Whitfield said: "It's with a deep sense of disappointment that I must step aside from such an exceptional project as Spartacus and all the wonderful people involved. It seems that it is time for myself and my family to embark on another extraordinary journey."
Starz released this statement: "Our hearts and prayers are with Andy and his family during this difficult time. Andy is not only an incredible actor whose portrayal of Spartacus made an…

SyFy has announced a new 30 minute TV series called "Legendary." It will star Kevin Sorbo as an exaggerated version of himself and will be produced by David Eick. Apparently, mythological monsters begin to attack Los Angeles and a fan of Sorbo's 90s TV series calls on him to help fight them. Seasons One of both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess have been re-released on DVD for Region 1 by Universal.
I love the new box art! and I really like that these releases use slim DVD cases instead of the huge fold-out digipaks of the previous releases.
I'm not sure about the content though:
- The HTLJ set does NOT include the 5 TV films like the original season one release does. Hopefully they'll be re-released separately still.
- Neither of these sets have any bonus features. I understand the rights to the original bonus features are owned by Anchor Bay and/or Davis-Panzer but I bet it wouldn't have cost that much to include them or to create some new ones. I really hope future sets will have some bonus materials.

This is the 15th anniversary of Xena! Creation has only one Xena convention this year and it's coming up (Feb. 5-7, 2010). Is anyone going?
I saw the first episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand the day before it aired (thanks to T101), and, without delving too much into my personal opinion or rehashing the countless reviews on the web, it was exactly as expected. A bit of Rome, a bit of 300, some incredibly excessive violence balanced with excessive lovemaking, all with a still recognizable Renaissance Pictures feel (especially with the tons of familiar names in the credits).
Ms. Lawless didn't have much of a role in the first episode. I thought she might not appear until she showed up about forty minutes in. She was mainly accompanying her character's husband to a Gladiator car-show sorta thing (showing off the upcoming games' Gladiators). The interviews say she's suppose…Read more >
No offense to The true sora (who's doing a great job, btw), but looking over the site I see a number of issues that I want to address in the near future:
- redlinks - ideally I want to remove all redlinks (the hard way, e.g. make pages for them) from the main page and side panel links, so the site will at first glance be more complete than it is. It'll help with editing traffic, and is relatively simple to do.
- standardization / necessary re-writes - this is much tougher, especially with regards to some of the bigger pages like Callisto and Ares, but they need to be re-written, almost from top to bottom, to remove fan fiction, cite their sources, et cetera. If these pages are linked from the side panel, I should get this done ASAP, in order to…

So, Talk:Medea has decided that the two Medeas are probably separate. I have no problem with this, since it takes a little thought to connect those two (the same thing happened with Castor and Castor of Argos, which was far more tenuous and I found that out myself).
But... I'm still pretty sure nothing bars them from being the same person. Hera seems to have problems with Jason independent of her issues with Hercules (e.g. Marcus in "Once a Hero" and the monster in "The Wedding of Alcmene"). What better way to get back at Jason than to force her prisoner (Medea) into killing Jason's family. Or better yet, impersonate the tragically killed Medea ("Medea, you're alive!") and then brutally kill Glauce and kids. That would blow his mind.
